Damon: “I don’t deserve you, but my brother does.”

Stefan: “Nah, she’s better off without me. Sure as hell better off without you.”

I don’t understand how people can say THIS is the true epic love story of the show. From what we’ve seen Damon has done nothing but protect Elena, trying to get his brother back from Klaus, and all Stefan does is constantly bad mouth him. “You can be in love with Elena all you want, if it means that you’ll protect her.” So all Damon can do is love Elena from afar, while he’s protecting her just to be with his brother??!! That’s not right, at all.

I don’t know why people like DS, in their current state. The day I start liking DS is the day Stefan starts showing Damon he cares about him by thanking him for protecting Elena, for helping him, and for protecting the town in general. Until then, I can’t like DS together.
